Isn’t it another attempt to reform our system?
YES, it is just another attempt toward political change.
WILL IT WORK? MAYBE. USA has a federal form of government with a jury
system. It worked for them, so why should it not work for us?
FEDERALISM could bolster political dynasties in each state or province or region. If
the present judicial system is maintained, the federal leader of the state, or province
or region who comes from a powerful political family could easily perpetuate and
strengthen their dynasty. They can hide their crimes of corruption through the
compliance of local judges and prosecutors.
Secession may follow and eventually the break-up of the country. On the other
hand, if the people are empowered to run the government through a built-in
mechanism in the judicial laws – under any form of democratic government – federal
presidential or parliamentary, the country will be strong, stable, prosperous and
united.
Therefore, we, at Worldwide Philippine Jury Initiative, propose to reform the current
system with the adoption of the JURY SYSTEM.
